As a registered counsellor, I uphold strict confidentiality.
However, there are limits where I am ethically and legally required to act,

client is at serious risk of harming themselves or others

there is a risk of harm to a child
- If
required by subpoena or court order
All personal and health records are securely stored:
- Physical
documents are kept in locked cabinets
- Digital
files are stored in encrypted, password-protected systems
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from
misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure.
In accordance with professional and legal requirements:
- Adult
client records are kept for 7 years after the last contact
- Child
client records are retained until the child turns 25
After this period, your records are securely destroyed.

access to your personal or health information
- Ask
us to correct inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete information

this policy. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you choose to attend counselling sessions via phone or
video, please ensure you are in a private space. While all reasonable measures
are taken to protect your privacy, you are responsible for the confidentiality
of your environment.
If you are an NDIS participant, we may collect and share
relevant information with your support coordinator, plan manager, or the NDIA
for service provision and funding purposes. This will only be done with your
informed consent.P
Data security is of great importance to Calm Kidz Program and to protect your Data we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure Data collected online.
Calm Kidz Program counselling services are delivered in
accordance with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics and
Practice. This includes respecting your privacy, obtaining informed consent,
maintaining professional boundaries, and working within the scope of practice.
The counselling and educational services provided by Calm
Kidz Program are not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, legal, or crisis
services. If your needs fall outside the scope of counselling support, we
may recommend a referral to another professional, such as a psychologist, GP,
or allied health provider.
Any wellbeing or educational content (including references
to natural supplements, nutrition, or lifestyle practices) is for educational
purposes only, does not constitute medical advice, cannot be used as a medical
diagnosis, and should not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare
professional.
